Scientific publications

This page displays a list of books and papers published by TEDS researchers and collaborators, using the data provided by TEDS families. After a short list of books, the papers are listed below under two headings below: Open Access publications, which are freely available to everyone on the web; and Other publications, which are not.

A few publications have made reference to external resources such as video recordings and summaries of analysis results. Such publications and links to relevant resources are listed on our publication resources page.

Most publications, whether open access or not, are identified by a DOI number, which is a unique reference number used to find publications on line. In most cases, the links provided below are based on DOI numbers. For more information, visit the DOI web site.

TEDS Books

The following science books were written by TEDS researchers and the findings presented in each book are based, at least in part, on data collected from TEDS participants.

Blueprint: How DNA Makes Us Who We Are, by Robert Plomin, published by Allen Lane (2018), ISBN 978-0241282076.

G is for Genes: the Impact of Genetics on Education and Achievement, by Kathryn Asbury and Robert Plomin, published by John Wiley & Sons (2013), ISBN 978-1118482780.

The genetic and environmental origins of learning abilities and disabilities in the early school years, by Yulia Kovas, Claire Haworth, Philip Dale and Robert Plomin, published by Monographs of the Society for Research in Child Development, volume 72, issue 3 (2007). This book summarises some of the TEDS research on the early years of learning. The book is also an open-access publication, which can be read in full at this link: https://doi.org/10.1111/j.1540-5834.2007.00439.x. If you wish to have your own electronic copy, it is freely available to download, in pdf file format (right-click the link and select Save As ...).

Open Access Publications

Open Access publications are available to everyone on the web, free of charge. By clicking on the links in the right hand column below, you can read the full text of these TEDS publications (each one will open in a new browser window).
