Scientific publications

A list of publications by TEDS researchers and collaborators, using the data provided by TEDS families, is provided on this page. We also have a separate searchable publication database:

TEDS books

The following science books were written by TEDS researchers and the findings presented in each book are based, at least in part, on data collected from TEDS participants.

Blueprint: How DNA Makes Us Who We Are, by Robert Plomin, published by Allen Lane (2018), ISBN 978-0241282076.

G is for Genes: the Impact of Genetics on Education and Achievement, by Kathryn Asbury and Robert Plomin, published by John Wiley & Sons (2013), ISBN 978-1118482780.

The genetic and environmental origins of learning abilities and disabilities in the early school years, by Yulia Kovas, Claire Haworth, Philip Dale and Robert Plomin, published by Monographs of the Society for Research in Child Development, volume 72, issue 3 (2007). – A PDF version of this book is freely available for download.

TEDS papers

The easiest way to find a paper in TEDS is to access our searchable list. Below we also provide a list of TEDS papers by calendar year of publication.

A few publications have made reference to external resources such as video recordings and summaries of analysis results. Such publications and links to relevant resources are listed on our publication resources page.

We actively encourage Open Access publication by all our collaborators as well as by TEDS researchers. Many journals allow authors to deposit a version of the paper's manuscript on Europe PubMed Central (https://europepmc.org/) six months after initial publication. This is free of charge for authors and is an approved method of providing open access. Journals generally specify that the manuscript submitted to PubMed Central is the initially accepted version, not the final published version.

Most TEDS papers, especially the more recent publications, are Open Access and these can by read in full by following the link provided. Where a paper is not open access, on following the link you may be asked for a subscription, a one-off payment or a login before you can read the entire content. However, in all cases, it should at least be possible to read the paper's "Abstract", which is a paragraph describing the main findings of the paper.
